Thank God it's Monday Devotional 27

by David Joynt on September 30, 2022

1 PETER 3:15 | 15 but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you.

How should we pray for our teachers? I pray for Christians called to teach in several ways. One is for their capacity to be models. Even in settings where explicit faith discussion is forbidden or discouraged, there is an opportunity for believing teachers to be witnesses and influencers in the way they treat administrators, colleagues, and kids. My wife had a prayer group prior to the school day, open to anyone and so, was quickly identified by others at her school as a Christian (and a pastor’s wife). Then her attention to the needs of staff and leaders and children was associated with her faith. Outside of school, this led to many opportunities to befriend and share.

Pray for ways believing teachers can integrate faith and work.

Do you “have a word” for the hope that is in you, and a strategy to model it?
