As a disciple, Matthew illustrates the power of paying attention.
His Gospel has the most complete account of Jesus' teaching and
life. It is a truism in life that we can only share what we know.
Matthew knew a lot! He conveyed Jesus' perspective on honesty,
on prayer, on sacrifice, on worship, on generosity, on forgiveness,
on blessing, on sex and marriage, on confrontation, and so on.
Matthew went from collecting taxes to collecting truth, and he did
it magnificently.
