What makes God happy? God rejoices in the wonder and beauty of his creation. We enjoy a sunset; he sees millions of galaxies. We tear up and laugh at a child’s first stumbling steps. He cheers every accomplishment, every task embraced, every hurdle overcome. His joy is the source of ours and the reason we have the capacity to see and celebrate. But in particular, God is joyous when sinners repent, when the lost are found.
It is difficult to call people to repentance in a culture afraid of disapproval and “being judgmental.” It is hard to come alongside people who are hurt, defensive, angry or guilty. But heaven rejoices when people turn around, seek help, feel lostness, and rejoin the faithful flock who are secure in God’s goodness and grace.
Pray for someone who has a broken or non-existent relationship with God.
