Your Summer Reading List July 11, 2026 Devotional

Testimony
Our habits shape who we are. Introduced to Jesus at birth, Sunday church has been a part of my routine my whole life. I always enjoyed the feeling of church, being pulled in by an inspiring message that reset life weekly. Although I have always believed in God and the story of Jesus, I kept searching and felt unworthy. I was anchored but somehow still drifting. I firmly believed in Jesus’ messages, but I was not always making the best choices. I was Christian and more or less “good,” and there were certainly people doing “worse” things, but faith was more routine than daily practice. Then one of life’s valleys struck. Amid serious health issues, loss, abandonment, betrayal and near-death experiences, the routine of faith became a lifeline. Prayers turned into deep, descriptive, meaningful conversations, leading to an awakening. An awakening to Jesus’ constant presence, if we let Him in. Any bad choice stemmed from failing to bring Jesus along. How do we know what Jesus wants us to do? Ask Him! Inviting Jesus in every day brings His peace, makes us feel worthy, and enables us to spread His light to the world. The best days are when Ibring Jesus with me, listen for His voice, and do His next needed thing.
