Your Summer Reading List June 23, 2026 Devotional

There is flourishing in God’s economy. The mustard seed is the smallest of seeds and yet it grows into the largest plants to become a tree. Jesus says, this is the kingdom of God. The apparent smallness of Jesus’ ministry from a worldly perspective will be gloriously vindicated in its largeness in the end. There is power in that small seed, a power that is still at work today. So much so that billions of people all over this planet call upon the name of Jesus as Lord. The power of the kingdom is on the move, the power of the kingdom is present at VPC, and the power is alive in you. Like the soil that opened itself to be planted, may you open yourself up and receive the power of the tiny yet life-changing seed of God.

31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
