The Apostle’s Teachings

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. ⁴³ Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. Acts 2:42-43

The church has always been a place of learning. This opposes some of the current narratives of the church as a place of closed off thinking and narrow-mindedness. But the truth of the matter is that the church has always been a place of mind expansion. What a gift our brains are—the ability to think and understand. We learn that the people of the early church were committed to lifelong learning at the feet of the apostles. And today at VPC, we continue this tradition of learning from the scriptures, those who have walked this road before us, and the activity of the Spirit in our lives. There are many ways in which you can engage in this learning and growth process called discipleship at VPC; we have community groups, bible studies, adult classes and micro-groups. We will be launching a new set of micro-groups this Fall (over 30 are ready to go) and I hope you will be part of one. Come and be part of the discipling journey at VPC, as you grow more and more into the person God has for you. Life Happens Here.
