Your Summer Reading List June 24, 2026 Devotional

To celebrate our anniversary, my wife and I went to Aravaipa canyon. It is a beautiful place where water runs through the canyon and feeds farms and orchards downstream. At the property where we were staying, three huge eucalyptus trees stood more than one hundred plus feet. They are magnificent. One evening a rainstorm rolled through and I was stunned to watch dozens if not hundreds of birds fly out of the canyon to seek refuge in the trees.
This is the kingdom of God. A place where people seek and find refuge. It is amazing that the ministry Jesus preached of love, forgiveness, and mercy has now inspired people all across the world to demonstrate love and mercy towards others. Christians do this on grand scales like hospitals and feeding millions of children, to small acts of kindness like helping a friend. The kingdom is a place of mercy, security, and safety.
Are you seeking refuge in the kingdom?
How do you share mercy?
